Overview
The Davis Rankings is a static site with no user accounts, no sign-up forms, and no server of our own - it's hosted on GitHub Pages and reads pre-computed data files directly in your browser. We don't collect, store, or sell any personal information ourselves. This page explains what limited data may still pass through third parties we rely on to run the site (hosting, DNS) or to display ads.
Information we collect directly
None that identifies you. There's no login, no forms, no comments, no newsletter. The one exception is anonymous traffic statistics, described under Analytics below.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log standard web server data (like IP address, browser type, and pages requested) as part of normal operation. That logging is governed by GitHub's own Privacy Statement, not by us - we don't have access to those logs. DNS for thedavisrankings.fyi is managed through Cloudflare in DNS-only mode (not proxied), meaning Cloudflare resolves the domain name but does not sit between you and the site's content; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for how they handle DNS query data.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from (referring site, country, browser and device type). Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first: it does not use cookies or local storage and does not track individuals across sites or build profiles. We see only aggregate numbers. Advertising and cookies
This site may display ads served by Google and other third-party advertising companies. These companies may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the web. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices. You can also control or disable cookies entirely through your browser's settings, though this may affect how ads (and some other site features) display.
Third-party data sources
Team and game statistics shown on this site come from the public collegefootballdata.com API. That data is about sports teams and games, not about you or any other individual visitor.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site changes (for example, if analytics or additional ad formats are added later). The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
